A Timely Provision

After going through the mail yesterday, we had a very encouraging card from one of the Sunday School classes at the church where Vince served on staff before being laid off back in September 2008. Inside the card was a $400 check as a love offering from that class. As you know, we are down to $0 but God never ceases to amaze me how QUICKLY things can turn around. One day you can be wondering how you are going to pay the bills or how a situation is going to work itself out, and God provides just when you need it, or gives you the answer.

In our situation, while we still have more bills to pay, I'm reminded to keep my hope in Him even if we can't pay all of our bills because the plan will be revealed in HIS timing and even when "man" does things that are not right and it impacts others or messes up "our plan" as it has in our situation, God still sits on His throne and NOTHING happens without his authority or permission. Isn't it amazing how our circumstances can go from wonderful to awful in a matter of seconds or awful to wonderful. In our situation, someone could call Vince in for an interview in a few minutes (I'm being hopeful here) and then if he got hired, we could be in a wonderful situation. I think back to the day when I got the call from Vince letting me know about his last layoff and boy did our financial situation go from good to awful in a matter of seconds.

Life and our circumstances are always changing even when we fight so hard for security or to keep some things the same. I have to hold firm to the promise that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore which means that the same power Christ experienced to overcome the grave is there for you and me today too!
