Oh, How The Years Fly By...

This has been a bittersweet week as Grant and Peyton have finished up their last week of preschool at this school. While we are excited at the days ahead with a new preschool next year, there is a part of me that is sad to see this chapter of our lives closed because there were so many great memories from their days at school there and it has been neat to see how all of their friends have grown from toddlers to preschoolers. It has also been a lot of fun to see their personalities come out more over the years! I can still remember putting Grant to bed the night before his first day of preschool. You would have thought he was going off to college! I just looked at him and thought you are still a baby; it isn't time for you to go to school. I knew he would love it and have so much fun playing with new friends because he was so social but I wasn't ready for this big milestone.

Then, the next year, Peyton went to school with me where I taught part-time. He went to their Mother's Morning Out the first semester I taught and then the second semester, he attended the Mother's Morning Out where Grant was in preschool. He met so many new friends and even remembered them when he went to his preschool orientation for his 2 year old class this year. He called his friends by name and even had conversations with them like a little man who was talking to friends he had known all of his life. I guess in some ways these were friends he had known all his life. Precious memories!

Then, there is Landon who has had his own milestones this week. He turned 8 months old and was finally able to swing in the "big boy" swing on the "big boy" playground.

He was still in my belly when this school year started and now he is ready for the big boy playground. It is hard to believe and while I know there are exciting days ahead, I am trying to cherish these moments. Boy, are they flying by...

Here is a stroll down memory lane....

Yesterday, Ms. Sherrie and Mr. John sent the boys each a graduation card and a dollar for each year they had completed. We put the cards in their mailboxes they had made and they were so excited to get "real" mail and to find a surprise inside....
