There Are Some Really Nice People In This World

This afternoon Vince went to pick up some prescriptions and while he was waiting in line he picked up a book titled, The Complete Guide To Getting & Staying Organized. It is by Karen Ehman who is a member of the Proverbs 31 Ministries Speaker Team. Vince thumbed through it some and put it back on the stand. Somehow the man who was standing in front of him noticed him reading through it and then put it back down. He asked Vince, "Are you not going to get that?" Vince said he would but that he couldn't because he couldn't afford it. The man took the book off the stand and insisted on buying the book for Vince. He went on to explain that his daughter had read that book and it changed her life and their home. Being and staying organized is a discipline that Vince (and I know many others) are wanting to improve in so the fact that God would use this man to allow Vince to have this resource was like an answer to prayer. What a nice man!

In a world where everyone seems to be rushing around and not even noticing those around them, this man not only noticed Vince but went the extra mile and did something so extraordinary because you rarely see that kind of thoughtfulness and kindness by complete strangers! I am continually being challenged to look outside of "my world" and notice those that I come in contact with in all my comings and goings and try to make "their world" a little better or more encouraged because we crossed paths. I think God gives us those opportunities daily. The question is do we take advantage of those opportunities?
