Ministry Opportunity Update

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update with where things stand on this potential church planting opportunity. Vince and I reviewed over all the documents that Chris sent us and came up with several questions that provided for some good discussion points. There were no big warning flags from these documents by any means, just some areas that we needed further clarification.

Last Friday, Vince spent a little over a half day with Chris talking about the plans, vision, goals, and other specifics along with our questions that we came up with from reading over all the documents he sent. At this point, it appears that God is opening this door for us. We are not 100% sure yet but we are continuing to pray through all of this. Vince really resonates with the vision and mission of what the church will be and with Chris as they both are compelled to disciple, impact culture, and see multiplication of God's Kingdom.

For those of you that are familiar with church planting, this is a BIG deal for a lot of reasons. With us being completely responsible for raising our own support, we want to make sure we are definitely on the same page with someone that we are going to do ministry with and that we can confidently tell those who will support us on this journey that we KNOW God is calling us to THIS CHURCH and serving under THIS MAN. In any church plant, the team you do this ministry with become like your family. You see them all the time and there is A LOT of hours that are put into getting a church off the ground and we want to make sure this is a good fit.

We are still very excited and are just following God one step at a time because when we feel the overwhelming peace that this is what we are to do, we'll jump in with both feet. Vince is enjoying getting to know Chris and I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to meet him and his wife tonight, so please pray as this should give me a chance for discernment about all of this. So far, from all our research and background checks (just kidding we haven't done that... but we are really checking everything out and asking a lot of very detailed questions as it should be in a situation like this) and talking with others we respect who know him well, this appears to be a good thing.
