What would be a Garrett holiday or getaway be without a mishap or two. As I've said before, as much as we would love to have some type of "normalcy" whatever that looks like, it just isn't meant to be for us. We were having a great Valentine's weekend at my parents' cabin and we had a delicious dinner and were on our way back up the mountain when it happened...the cabin was in sight and we were almost in the driveway when the wheels started sliding on the gravel. Vince stopped and backed up to try to start back again when the wheels slipped again as he was in reverse. Fortunately, he stopped within an inch of going into a ditch. We didn't see any way out except to call a wrecker because if the car even moved in the slightest we would have been in the ditch. Lucky for us, we have this coverage on our auto insurance. You can't tell from the pictures exactly how close we were to going in the ditch which would have been a mess not to mention an expense we couldn't afford with the damage it would have done to Vince's parents car. Yikes! We borrowed their vehicle since they were keeping Grant and Peyton and they needed our minivan with the boys' carseats. All turned out well so we can all laugh now. Enjoy and have a laugh or two at our expense. :)

At least Vince had a sense of humor about the whole incident.

No, I'm not the only one to ask for a picture with the person who towed our vehicle. He said he gets that a lot but you know me I can't resist getting a picture.

This is what Landon thought of the whole thing. He was full of laughs.

We finally made it inside the cabin with ourselves and the vehicle in one piece.:)
