To update you on the job front, there isn't really any solid leads in terms of going for multiple interviews or a job offer being made to Vince. Vince has communicated with several different radio stations across the U.S. that could be a potential job but nothing firm. Vince just spoke on Sunday at the morning and evening service at a church in Rome and did a great job. They also happen to be looking for a pastor and the head of the search committee asked for his resume. Vince is also continuing to pray about planting a church and even had a new church planter contact him this week that wants to meet with him so there is no telling where this may lead. There are all kinds of possibilities but nothing solid yet. I have to keep reminding myself this will all be worked out in God's timing and honestly, there are days when God's timing wears on my patience but sometimes I think that is the point. Trying times usually produce growth if you allow yourself to be molded and when you come through the trial, you find you have developed perseverance, patience, and other fruits of the spirit. Painful at times, YES! But worth it in the bigger picture, ABSOLUTELY!
Of course, bills still have to be paid and miraculously, we have yet to fall behind on the bills. That could all change tomorrow but I've found that I have to live by the verse that tells me not to worry about tomorrow. I must focus on today and trust that God WILL take care of us and the Bible promises that in Matthew 6:26...Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? For now, I'm focusing on today and confident that God will take care of us as He has always done.
While there have definitely been difficult days, there have also been MANY great days and memories that we have made together. Through some of God's provisions, we have enjoyed visiting some fun places. Here are just a few of these memories...
Our trip to White Water:
Can you believe Landon will be 1 in 5 weeks? He is no longer in the baby tub or baby car seat but he has graduated to the big boy tub and car seat. Time is passing way too quickly!
Grant has been wanting to grow a garden but we really don't have the room in our backyard for this but my grandparents have a big garden. Because he loves grape tomatoes so much, each year they plant him a vine and he gets to go over and pick tomatoes to bring home.
We also celebrated Vince's 36th birthday! We had several different gatherings with some close friends and each side of our family. Here is our celebration with Vince's family. They all came to our pool and we had a great time!
After all that swimming, Grant and Peyton were still hungry so they took matters into their own hands and got in the cooler to help themselves. :)
Each Thursday, the Wendy's near us has 99 cents Kid's Meals and they give them FREE airbrush tattoos and/or face painting and balloon animals or in their case, hats! This is one of the highlights to their week!
The guy offered to give me a tattoo and of course, the boys really wanted me to have one too so I participated! :) I thought I was going to get to pick mine like they did and have a cute, petite one. Oh, no! Mine covered my entire upper arm, complete with glitter. It was nice timing to have this the night before I attended the homeschool expo this year. :)
Of course, there are the fun memories we make at home like when we have pretend play. Here the boys are pretending to make a rocket. They have Daddy's tools and they even cute a door out on the side of the box. We got to travel to Mars and other places to check on the dinosaurs. Such an imagination in their little minds! What you can come up with only having a box!
A Trip To the Atlanta Zoo:
Grant and Peyton with the life size statue of Willie B.
Watching the gorillas is always funny to me! These gorillas actually picked up all their orange peels off the ground after they were finished eating. They act so human-like it is scary. It was so funny watching the mommy and daddy gorilla literally shake their heads as their little ones were running around them.
The petting zoo. Peyton wanted no part of this. He liked watching from afar. :)
Peyton and Landon on the train ride at the zoo.
The playground was our last stop at the zoo.
Leaving Grant Park, we got a picture of Grant in front of the sign...
