Christmas In April Too!

I don't even know where to begin because God is using so many people to bless our socks off! I was just thinking the other day that things are almost back to normal (meaning they will be "normal" when Vince gets a job). I get to have fun with my three boys while Vince is off working on his laptop applying for jobs and going to various places to apply and talk to people in person about potential job openings. Then, he comes home and we get to have family time. I love having my life back where my main focus is making memories with my family. I almost hesitate to say that because unfortunately when life is calm, I have to brace myself because in the past, something unexpected comes out of nowhere. However, something very strange (meaning very different for us) has occurred when the calm set in this time and it is a very good kind of strange that I can definitely live with. :) I have always known that somehow, some way during all of this uncertainty that God would provide but what I was not prepared for was that God would do so much more!!!

You have already read the numerous examples of the ways God has provided for our needs and then He exceeded all of that with providing "extras" that are not necessary for survival but do add a little spice to life. :) Well, yesterday I get a call from my sister saying that she was invited and was told that she could invite a friend to come along to receive a free facial, makeover, and someone to do our hair and then do some before/after professional pictures. Do you know who she invited to do that with her? ME!!! I have never had a facial and I am so excited because tomorrow night I get to have a fun night out with Lorri!

I was really excited just thinking about this pampering and while this is definitely something I don't need to survive, I am so grateful and excited to have this special and fun time with Lorri. What a gift and treat for me! Then, not long after that conversation with Lorri, Peyton mentions something "yellow" was at our door. I wasn't sure what he was talking about so I went to look outside and there was a box with a typed message attached to it. I couldn't tell exactly what it was when I looked out the window but when I mentioned that we had some kind of gift at our door, everyone was at the door in no time. It looked like ants on top of a piece of food! On our front doorstep was a HD Radio made for picking up HD radio (obviously), HD sound on our t.v., and we can also dock our Ipod. There are also a lot of other neat features to it. Attached to it was a very nice and encouraging note that took the time to encourage each one of our family members in a paragraph dedicated to us individually and then the final paragraph focused on us as a family. Whoever this person is thought this would be something we could enjoy for many years and they were definitely right! That note is something that will always be cherished too. If you know anything about our family, music is very important so the person that did this knew this gift would "spoil" us. The ironic thing is the boys and I had just been making a music video with them dancing and singing to some of their favorite tunes earlier that day. Now, they can really listen to music and record it in a "HD" way! Okay, I know given our situation this is definitely not a must have but the fact that someone would do something like this for us was so extremely nice and generous because we would never buy this for ourselves even if we did have the money to do it because we usually don't spend money on these kind of treats. We just admire from afar. :) However, it certainly is a nice treat to have and we are already enjoying it! Vince wasn't even able to focus on eating dinner because he was so excited. He was like a little boy at Christmas who couldn't wait to play with his favorite new toy! What a special treat for our entire family but it was nice to see Vince so excited!

Then, shortly after this discovery my mom called to say that she had a surprise for me! She is having someone come clean our house next Tuesday! Now surprisingly with all of this craziness in our house over the past month, I have been able to maintain dusting and cleaning but next week would have been the time I needed to clean again so to be able to do something else more fun instead of clean is wonderful! I think this lady is really going to do a thorough job and I am so excited that I am going to get a clean house without being tired at the end of the day!

We have certainly been spoiled with all of this generosity and we are just so thankful! This is all so very surreal! Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to be blessed in so many ways but this strange yet wonderful change of events in our lives is something I am just going to soak up while I can!

  1. Isn't God awesome?!!! You guys are so blessed!! It's a testimony to God's love and faithfulness. And His sweetness, too, because you need something that falls under the heading of "not a necessity" to cheer you up!! He doesn't just tend to our needs, He cares about our happiness. Listening to and singing along with praise music lifts you up to His throne room, doesn't it?!! I love seeing His love demonstrated to you guys! Love you lots, Susan Holcomb
